Symmetrical Love Part 1 (Death the Kid x Reader)

(A/N: Part one of my Death the Kid request from the lovely KumikoFujiwa8, Hope you enjoy so far!)

Kid was getting bored of playing with these two idiots who decided to pick on a reaper, his golden eyes cold as he set them on the two slow buffoons who had only injured each other instead of him.
“And now it’s time to see the power of a grim reaper. Soul resonance!” Kid hummed along with Patty and Liz as Soul and Black Star baited him clearly unable to see the expanding power around Kid.
“Hmmm... looks like those two are trying to get killed.” A soft voice whispered from the balcony above having watched the display between the three other students. Black electric currents ran around Kids wavelength as his weapons glowed forming into two identical cannon like guns around his arms.

“Execution mode ready, prepare to die.” Kid glared at the two boys as he aimed the cannons towards them, the black currents forming around him again as Soul seemed to realise the trouble they were in while Black Star continued baiting in his usual obnoxious manner.
“Resonance stable.” Liz called.
“Black needle soul wavelength fully charged.” Patty giggled.
“Preparing to fire in four seconds. Three.”
“Two.”

“One.” Liz continued as the spectator sighed as she pushed off the balcony her (h/c) hair flowing behind her as she fell towards the two who were facing off against Death the Kid.
“Firing now.”  Patty laughed as the spectator continued falling towards the boys who stood there unsure what to do as the two rays of light shot at them, managing to flip round and kick both boys heads causing them to fall unconscious. The figure quickly ducked, twister her body as the bullets flew over her head and hit the concrete behind. A mushroom cloud of smoke forming from explosion proving how much damage it would have done to the two idiots. Too bad for the Meister academy but they were sure the academy could cover the damage.

Kid turned away as Liz and Patty returned to their normal weapon forms with a small sigh seeming to believe he had hit his targets.
“Jeez that was close.” A soft voice called as he looked over stunned, a few steps away from him was a girl with shining (e/c) eyes and (h/l) (h/c) hair with Soul over one shoulder and Black Stars collar held in her hand, both unharmed but unconscious as she grinned at Kid.

“You could have really hurt someone there, so I got involved because these two idiots never know when to quit.” She smiled as Kid just watched her with an interested stare while Tsubaki and Maka ran over to their partners.
“Who are you?” Kid murmured as she walked over and stuck out her hand to him with that continuous 'innocent' smile hiding her obvious talent. To be able to not only avoid but grab these two out the way of his attack without him even noticing her... she was good.

“(Name).” She replied.

-Reader POV (1 year later)-

You flipped your body round avoiding Kids bullets as he aimed at the enemy you were in close quarters with along with your weapon Yuki who was in the form of two small daggers, you smiled as you felt her wavelength and yours linked as you surged forward with Kids bullets for another attack . The enemy blocked your impossible barrage of attacks you let out an irritated sigh flipping back onto your hands with a swift kick to, what you guessed was, its chin before completing your flip and jumping into the air with a wince.
“Kid now!” You shouted as Kid let loose a hail of wavelength bullets as he muttered under his breath while you fell back to the ground gracefully a hand placed over your eye as you winced in pain.

“Are you alright (Name)?” Kid walked over with an outstretched hand to you in your kneeling position, you stood without help as you kept your hand over your eye while he gave you a puzzled look across his pale features.
“Got something in my eye.” You grinned as you looked over at the hole ridden creature with a low whistle.

“Went a bit all out didn’t you?” You hummed as Yuki transformed into her human form next to you with a worried smile from behind her (f/c) hair your way. Kid sighed with distaste as he glanced back at the fallen creature with a disturbed look on his face.
“He was hideous.” Kid muttered coldly as you forced yourself not to take a step back at the words as you pushed a small smile onto your face.
“Because he wasn’t symmetrical?” You asked, keeping the smile plastered on as Kid simply nodded, his fiery eyes calming as his normality returned.

“Let me look at your eye.” He moved towards you as you took a few steps back poking out your tongue in a playful manner while hiding slightly behind Yuki who shrugged.
“It’s not a big deal, I will go home and wash out whatever it is while you and Yuki call into your dad that we got the target.” You called as you quickly jumped away through the streets with a quick wave.

Patty appeared next to Kid along with Liz as he and Yuki watched you run off down the street as if all of hell was chasing after you.
“(Name)’s funny.” Patty giggled as Kid watched her with his golden eyes feeling slightly lonely without her presence that was as warm as the sun around him, watching her (h/l) (h/c) sway as she shot a quick smiling glance back his way.
“Why don’t you just tell her that you like her already.” Liz sighed as Kid shot her a glance.
“What?” He grumbled a warning which Liz ignored.
“You have ever since we first met her and she saved Soul and Black Star from the Death Cannon. Just tell her already and stop mopping around. Its depressing.” Liz continued as Kid fell silent his gaze once again on you, unnoticed by you as you ran home.

“Shit. Shit. Shit.” you muttered to yourself as you quickly walked into your home and straight to the bathroom, washing your contact lens that had fallen out during the battle as you calmed yourself from shaking. He almost saw, he almost saw the thing that would make him hate you. Find you disgusting even. You let out a small smile as you looked into your reflection you (h/c) hair falling in front of your face as one (e/c) eye and one gold eye shone out at you before you slipped the (e/c) contact back over the golden abnormality of your birth.

You were not “symmetrical” and you knew it could cause Kid to distance himself from you as you fell to the floor slightly with a sad smile as the warmth behind your eyes finally broke free. Tears fell down your face. You couldn’t handle him hating you; you had grown close to him. Admired him. Cared for him. Yes, he may be a bit quirky but he was strong and kind and protective, he was just... well Kid and you couldn’t help but fall for that. He would find you...
“Disgusting.” His words echoed through your mind as you held back a small sob as you pushed your hands into your face to hide the sadness from the world.

“(Name)? Yuki asked me to check if you were okay while they went to report to the head.” You jumped as Kids calm voice called from the living room as your head whipped round.
